CSKA Moscow is the champion of Gloria Cup 2019 Basketball

Bringing together world-renowned teams and athletes, Gloria Cup 2019 featured the Gloria Cup Basketball Tournament, the second in the series. Held between September 11-15, CSKA Moscow, TEKSÜT Bandırma BK and TOFAŞ Bursa competed in Group A, while Anadolu Efes, Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta and Zalgiris Kaunas competed in Group B, with Russian CSKA Moscow taking the lead against Anadolu Efes in the final game of the tournament and become the champion.

Group A

The first game for Group A included the CSKA Moscow, TEKSÜT Bandırma BK and TOFAŞ Bursa teams, with TOFAŞ Bursa playing against TEKSÜT Bandırma BK, and a 108-86 win by TEKSÜT Bandırma BK.
On September 12, CSKA Moscow won against TOFAŞ Bursa in the second game of the group by 87-85.
The final game of Group A between CSKA Moscow and TEKSÜT Bandırma BK – to determine the finalist team - was played on September 13: CSKA Moscow won 61-58 and qualified for the final game.
TOFAŞ Bursa, with two losses, prepared for the fifth-sixth place game on the final day while TEKSÜT Bandırma BK found a place in the third-fourth place game, with one win.

Group B

The first game for Group B, which included Anadolu Efes, Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta and Zalgiris Kaunas teams, was played between Anadolu Efes and Zalgiris Kaunas, with Anadolu Efes winning 100-98.
Zalgiris Kaunas and Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta played on September 12, with Zalgiris Kaunas winning 71-70. Zalgiris Kaunas, entered for the fifth-sixth place game.
On September 13, Anadolu Efes faced Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta in the final game for the Group B, with Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta winning 88-87 to game up with TEKSÜT Bandırma BK in the third-fourth place game, while Zalgiris Kaunas, which closed the Group with a win and a lose, entered the fifth-sixth place game against TOFAŞ Bursa.

Final Day

In the first game of the tournament’s final day, TOFAŞ Bursa and Zalgiris Kaunas competed for fifth-sixth place. The winner was Zalgiris Kaunas, with a score of 100-95.
These results left TOFAŞ Bursa finishing sixth in the tournament; the team received its plaque from Gloria Sports Arena General Manager Görkem Dönmez and Smart Casual Event Sports Director Buluç Yalçın.
Gloria Sports Arena General Manager Görkem Dönmez and Smart Casual Event Sports Director Buluç Yalçın also presented the plaque to Zalgiris Kaunas, which came in fifth in the Tournament.
Arturas Milaknis was named MVP of the fifth-sixth game.
In the third-place game between TEKSÜT Bandırma BK and Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta, TEKSÜT Bandırma BK won 88-71.
Gloria Sports Arena General Manager Görkem Dönmez and Smart Casual Event Sports Director Buluç Yalçın presented the plaque to Galatasaray Doğa Sigorta, which placed fourth in the tournament.
Gloria Sports Arena General Manager Görkem Dönmez and Smart Casual Event Sports Director Buluç Yalçın also presented the plaque to TEKSÜT Bandırma BK, which placed third in the tournament with its victory on the final day.
Emanuel Terry was named MVP of the third-place game.

In the final game of Gloria Cup 2019 Basketball, CSKA Moscow and Anadolu Efes, who also met at Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final, competed against each other.
CSKA Moscow defeated Anadolu Efes 65-63 in a very tight game, finishing the tournament as champion.
Anadolu Efes received the 2ndPlace prize from Gloria Sports Arena General Manager Görkem Dönmez.
Undefeated champion CSKA Moscow was presented the Championship trophy by Gloria Sports Arena CEO and Turkey’s National Olympic Committee Board Member Elif Özdemir.
The MVP of Gloria Cup 2019 Basketball tournament was Will Clyburn, from CSKA Moscow, who was presented the award by MV Holding Founder Murat Vargı.
